MEETING TO DISCUSS COLLABORATION OPPORTUNITIES BETWEEN UUM AND KEDAH STATE GOVERNMENT

WhatsApp Image 2022 11 13 at 1.51.18 PMUUM ONLINE: Alor Setar – UUM Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Dr. Haim Hilman Abdullah paid a courtesy call on the Secretary of the Kedah State Government, Dato' Norizan Khazali at his office at Wisma Darulaman, yesterday.

The purpose of the visit was to discuss potential collaboration opportunities between Universiti Utara Malaysia (UUM) and the Kedah state government involving nine potential programmes.

The nine potential collaborations include the MENTOR, AMBASSADOR, THINKING, WISDOM, MEKAR, IKHLAS, EMAS, Student Excellence, and PAKSI programmes.

In addition, joint ventures in the fields of management, education, and fields related to the development of Kedah State Administrative Officers (KCS) were discussed, along with the offer to continue studying at UUM.

In addition, Prof. Dr. Haim Hilman gave a briefing on UUM's plans to hold the 2023 Kedah Royal Adventure Programme in March or May of the following year, as well as a briefing on programmes involving the community and the local community through the 1 School 1 District (1PP1D) and MEKAR programmes.

According to him, UUM offers its expertise in an effort to assist the Kedah state government in its efforts to elevate the rice-growing state in a variety of ways.

At the conclusion of the meeting, Dato' Norizan thanked UUM for its willingness to discuss the potential for collaboration and further refine the presented proposals.

Also present during the visit were Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Student and Alumni Affairs) Prof. Dr. Ahmad Martadha Mohamed, Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Research and Innovation) Prof. Dr. Russayani Ismail and senior UUM officials.
