UUM HONORED WITH BEST IHL INSTITUTION eUSAHAWAN AWARD AT THE MDX AWARDS NIGHT 2023

This accolade highlights UUM's significant contributions to Malaysia's digital economy growth.
Represented by Prof. Dr. Shahimi Mohtar, the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic and International), on behalf of the Vice-Chancellor, and Dr. Hasnizam Hassan, the Executive Director of the Co-operative and Entrepreneurship Development Institute (CEDI), UUM's recognition at the MDX Awards Night underscores its commitment to fostering innovation, entrepreneurship, and digital skills among its students and the local community.

Fahmi Fadzil, the Minister of Communications and Digital, expressed the Ministry's interest in making the Malaysia Digital Expo (MDX) an annual event to empower the country's digital economy. He highlighted that MDX had the potential to attract countries in the Southeast Asian region to open pavilions at the expo, making Malaysia a key destination for such events.
The three-day MDX 2023 event featured exhibitions and speeches by leading speakers from various industries who shared their experiences and expertise through a series of conferences and strategic networking sessions. The MDX Awards Night was a pivotal part of the event, rewarding and recognizing the outstanding achievements of the local digital technology ecosystem that have significantly contributed to the growth of Malaysia's digital economy.
The event showcased leading futurist speakers in the field of Artificial Intelligence (AI), including Zack Kass; Zoom Asia Pacific Head, Ricky Kapur; Country Advisor of the Turkiye Investment Office, Ahmed Emre Buyukkilic, and Director of Japan Peppol Authority, Hiroyuki Kato.
